In a near future where aging stops at 25, time is the new currency and the wealthy can live forever. When Will Salas inherits decades of life from a wealthy murdered man, he’s pegged as the suspect by the corrupt Time Keepers, who enforce the law.
This movie is deep. Well alot deeper than I thought it’d be. The entire premise of the film is cool with living until you’re 25 then being given one year and dwindles down quickly while the rich in theory can live forever. It does make you think about how that could be and how it almost relates to real life. Justin Timberlake pulls off his role nicely and I still think he is actually a good actor. Surprisingly Amanda Seyfried also does nicely and her and JT make a nice team. The film keeps a nice pace to it with a good amount of car chases and action scenes and the futuristic setting is cool with everyone living in different areas based on wealth. At the end of the day though I couldn’t help but feel like it was just better than average but barely. Sure it was good but other than the premise the film would just be another action sci-fi film. It is worth a watch though.
In this thriller, Driver (Ryan Gosling), a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver, is lured from his isolated life by a lovely neighbor and her young son. His newfound peace is shattered, however, when her violent husband is released from prison.
Well this really wasn’t what I was expecting. I don’t know why I thought this movie would be different but I did. I expected almost a more adult version of The Transporter so I was expecting more violence and less of a story driven suspense film. Now saying that this film is still very good. It’s a slower paced thriller/action/suspense film. Ryan Gosling along with the rest of the cast play their role perfectly. The action when there is some is done tastyfully for the feel of the movie while still remaining quite brutal. The thing that I feel most people like about the movie is with how it flows you always are being held by suspense and left wondering what will happen next. Also this movie has by far one of the greatest soundtracks I’ve heard in a long time. It really has that 80’s feel to it. Overall I feel this movie is worth the view and maybe with another vfiew I’ll enjoy it a bit more.
