Album Review : Hot Mulligan – Pilot

Hot Mulligan – ‘Pilot’

Label: No Sleep Records

Release Date: March 23rd, 2018

With Hot Mulligans debut LP release titled “Pilot” it should become clearly apparent to all that they are going to huge, and rightfully so.

Combining a heartfelt approach with strong guitar work, catchy rhythms, and just a generally great beat from the start makes this album instantly stand out.

From the start of opening track “Deluxe Capacitor” you get a catchy beat that instantly makes you bop your head before vocalist Tades Sanville’s unique raspy voice kicks in.

While the first 4 songs on the title are more upbeat straight up pop punk tracks the band switches gears and throws a great deep track with the song “Pluto Was Never Even Really A Planet Either”. With this track they show how diverse they are at being able to craft a slower deeper track.

This entire album honestly is just great and that is something I rarely say anymore. If you are a pop punk fan, and even if you aren’t, this is something you should listen to. If this is any indication of what Hot Mulligan is capable of then I can’t wait for the future.

Score : 9/10
