After what some people thought was a lackluster twist for the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 comes as a new addition in this short film titled “Hail To The King” that takes place after all events of the film.

We follow Trevor Slattery while he is in prison for the crimes take took place while he was acting as the Mandarin. While in prison however Trevor has finally found the fame he has always wanted and lives like a king. He has his own posse and is constantly asked to do the impression of the Mandarin. During this time though Jackson Norris is conducting a interview with him about his life, times during the Mandarin, and the fact that the Ten Rings could be mad at him for impersonating them. From there the final twist is a memorable one and something that I hope they can go further with.

Ben Kingsley does a great job reprising his role as Trevor. He’s quite comical and plays the role of someone who is so full of themselves given the circumstance he is still in. Scoot McNairy as well does a good job as Jackson Norris. Though again without spoiling much I can say that hopefully we will see more down the line.

Overall in a little over 10 minutes this short film hooks up. With some great humor, a good continuation of the story as well as bringing back old characters (be sure to watch through the previews) they hit it out of the park with this. All I can hope for is that they continue this down the line as well.
