InAPPropriate Comedy (2013) Movie Review
Released : March 22nd, 2013
Reviewed : Dec. 15th, 2013
Genre : Comedy
Story (from IMDB) : In this comedy film, a computer tablet full of the world’s most hilariously offensive apps breaks through the borders of political correctness, stirring up cultural anarchy.
What happens when you try to match and compete with a film named Movie 43 that not only bombed at the box office but was one of the worst comedies in years? If you guessed make a movie similar to it in all aspects including the negatives than you must either be a mind reader or someone with more IQ than a brick.
There isn’t a story throughout the film but instead they use a iPad look a like with different apps symbolizing another short scene and go from there. Those scenes include “Flirty Harry”, “Blackass”, “The Amazing Racist”, a foreign porn club, and a psychologist among others. To start off Flirty Harry is horrendous. It isn’t funny and prides itself on constantly throwing innuendos into the mix in a attempt to be funny. Instead it turns out cringe worthy. Blackass is as the name implies Jackass but with black guys. From one of the scenes being pulled straight from Jackass itself to another one involving babysitting white kids it makes little sense. The Amazing Racist is the one standout of the film. Those scenes are downright hilarious at points. If you were a fan of the YouTube videos you’ll enjoy it. The foreign porn club is again boring and doesn’t make a single laugh from it. I could describe how the psychologist is just a reason to talk about all the sexual things they want in a attempt to be funny but I assume everyone can guess if it’s funny or not.
What I assume this film is banking on is the star power. Just like Movie 43 they post known names on it in a attempt to gain viewers. Adrien Brody has hit the bottom of his career doing the Flirty Harry bits. You can almost see the pain in his eyes during it. Rob Schneider plays the psychologist who is almost on screen just for the fact that he is Rob Schneider. His bit doesn’t say much. For Lindsay Lohan being on the cover with her name and picture she is thankfully only in the movie for 30 seconds. She looks god awful in it too. Michelle Rodriguez pretty much just plays herself for the few scenes she is in. The only star is Ari Shaffir who plays The Amazing Racist.
Overall look The Amazing Racist parts up on YouTube and steer clear of this. Coming in at 83 minutes I enjoyed maybe 10 minutes of it. Just like Movie 43 this movie is a huge flop that is was missed for a reason.
