Review :

Having The Rock in something really can make it better.

This new reality show features a list of people who are all come from varying backgrounds with similarities like they had a rough time growing up or have a big job now. Throw them all into a competition mixing The Real World with Survivor to find the best person that represents what a hero stands for and you have this show. Now the problem is the show isn’t all the exciting. The two tasks which involve scaling the side and top of a building and going through a pitch black underground shelter of sorts aren’t anything new or exciting. I had the feeling for both that they were almost ideas that Fear Factor had once dismissed and The Hero just picked them up.

The participants are straight out of your generic handbook as well. A cop, surgeon, cheerleader, mom, dad, etc. Right away they start going at each other without evening knowing each other. The Rock however plays his role as host and motivator quite well. Though he really is just acting like himself.

By the time this episode ended I had already started to grow bored of it. Stunts ripped from Fear Factor, emotional ties not as strong as Survivor, and just a uninteresting watch makes the show not worth while. With all the other shows similar to this even with The Rock at the forefront I don’t see this one lasting too long.
