Review :

I can’t help but feel as if I didn’t fully get what I expected from this first issue.

The story follows a big company planning on buying Crystal Lake and building a complex on it so they end draining some of the lake and accidentally take Jason with it. Jason shortly then ends up on a train where they are taking the waste towards New Mexico and while on the way Jason kills everyone aboard and crashes the train. Shortly after, Jason runs into a man who is being chased by Leatherface. After Jason quickly takes care of the band and takes Leatherfaces chainsaw away, Leatherfaces family decides he is different and invites him back. The rest of the issue involves introducing the family and having Jason toy with emotions he hadn’t dealt with in a long time while getting close to Leatherface.

Now they do leave it where hopefully the next issue they start fighting because with this one it just doesn’t do anything. It’s not bad but at the same time it isn’t anything good or memorable. After reading it I just wondered if this is hopefully just a big buildup for future issues but the draw factor to continue reading isn’t great.

Hopefully the next issue picks up on the horror and violence that is expected because otherwise we might have a disappointment coming.
