The Last Exorcism Part 2 (2013) Movie Review
Released : March 1st, 2013

Genre : Horror
Story (from IMDB) :
As Nell Sweetzer tries to build a new life after the events of the first movie, the evil force that once possessed her returns with an even more horrific plan.
After the big shock of “The Last Exorcism” being a great movie against all odds they decided to continue and see if the success of the first can carry onto the next film in the series. I am happy to say too that while it may not be as good as the first this is still a really great horror movie.
The story follows Nell Sweetzer’s follow up from the end of the first film being saved from the cult and being put into a teenage girls halfway rehabilitation type house to try and get back into a normal life style. While all this is happening though Nell is trying to convince herself that the demon that haunted her named “Abalam” isn’t real. What persues is still quite interesting with a few twists that are between far off than the usual possession story arches that have been the normal thing for horror movies lately.
Now the movie may not have many jump scares scene like one would expect in a PG-13 horror movie but what it lacks in those is a growing story that builds up to what is a great finishing for a movie. By the end you truly feel satisfied with the ending because it again strays from the usual norm for a horror movie of this type. Ashley Bell as Nell though is also a huge reason as she plays her role to a perfection. Based on the fact as well that she can actually contort her body for the scenes make everything she does have more of a real authentic feel to it that can be generally disturbing at points. The rest of the cast will fall away and become instantly forgettable but Bell’s role makes it memorable.
At the end of the day some will say this was just a cash in on the fame of the first film but as a guy who thought the first one was great this is another continuation in that same greatness. I recommend this one.
