Review :

This was a nice surprise actually. Quite rauncher than expected but with that it turned out funnier than expected as well.

You get a somewhat average story with a very original twist in here. The story of two friends who became enemies who are forced to live together during a breakup and tough times. You get to watch them get to know each other, fight, begin to like each other and it all actually feels natural between them. They share great on screen chemistry. The twist being though that one of the girls works on a phone sex line and next thing you know they are running their own phone sex operation and making a lot of money. After that happens throw in the same old love / break up plot of every movie with a generic ending. The phone sex part keeps it funny enough to forgive the rest of the story which has been done a million times over.

One of the films strongest points though is a outstanding cast full of great chemistry together. Lauren Miller (who also wrote this movie (and is married to Seth Rogen)) stars alongside Ari Graynor . Together like I said they share great on screen chemistry to the point that they actually come off as great friends when they like each other and enemies when they fight. They are just that believable together. You also have Justin Long playing the gay best friend for them. Justin Long can’t really do a bad role and he acts just like a gay hipster in the movie and nails it. Proves he’s funny no matter what.

The other stand out point for this movie is the humor. It’s very rare to see a comedy with two strong female roles let alone a raunchy comedy. They nail it with this one though. It can have it’s moments where it’s not as funny as it wants to be and at first it a little different to hear some of the phone sex scenes based on how vulgar they are coming from a actress that looks like a young Kate Hutson. There are two scenes though I have to point out that both relate to phone sex scenes starring Kevin Smith and Seth Rogan. Those are the funniest parts of the movie to the point where you will remember them even after watching the movie. Perfect scenes with great small cameo’s almost.

Overall it’s a funny comedy that deserves a watch though it may be something that after one view you won’t really have a draw to watch it again. Still worth the viewing though.
