Story (from IMDB) :
A group of friends stop to pick up a hitchhiking woman only to end up getting drugged by her with a gas. They awaken to find that vials have been implanted in the base of their skulls – which are of course instantly fatal if they are removed, a grinning professional looking woman informs them on TV screens that they have 22hrs to fill these vials with a specific amount of brain fluid, a fluid that is produced during times of extreme pain. Along with another group of unlucky test subjects and with time ticking away they decide to work together and share the burden of reaching their painful target.
Too many movies try to follow in the footsteps of Saw now a days. Many fail miserably but this one doesn’t do to bad for itself.
You still have the generic plot for the most part. Strangers trapped in a house who have to endure “x” amount of torture to get out. Then the twist at the end which is never too shocking. The acting for this one isn’t too bad though and the writing is decent enough even if right away the plot nearly kills itself. You have these people who are freaking out and terrified about what will happen yet the next moment they are all stone cold people ready and able to torture and nearly kill one another.
Now the torture scenes are well done but nothing that hasn’t been done in other movies before. Still cringe worthy sometimes based off the fact that during some of the scenes they are openly doing them to their self and while those scenes aren’t anything spectacular they pick ways to torture themselves that a common person could think about how that would feel. I did find it funny near the end when the women was going on a torture spree for herself though. That was disturbing to say the least.
The ending though I thought was almost just stupid. To think that one of the guys that was being tortured and enduring it all was behind it and working for the company was just stupid. No one would put up with that multiple times like he said he did.
Overall it’s a decent watch. Nothing new but will keep you entertained for the time that it is on.
