This is definitely not the same Deadpool we have known for quite some time now. Gone is the laughing one liner Deadpool and now is a mature, mad, and ruthless killing machine. That being said this comic falls short of what it could be.
For one thing the title right away is misleading as the story starts off at a slower pace and far off from what you would expect. The idea of a darker versions of Deadpool isn’t new though.
One of the main set offs is the story though. It starts off slower and just has a hard time picking it to me and getting me completely into it. The next issues might help the story develop and get me into it but this one first just doesn’t grab my attention. Visually the comic also aren’t amazing but they do show off right away that just by looking at it, it will be nothing like you expect it too. I should also note that even with the Parental Warning on the cover the violence is no where near hat would be expected from the title of the comic. Again though down the line I see the violence picking up.
Overall hopefully down the line this comic picks and up and saves itself because for now it just doesn’t do much for me.
