Review :

I finally got around to reading The Walking Dead Comics today even though I’ve had some issues since they first came out. It was just one of those things on the back burner and I just decided to read it. Man do I feel like a idiot for waiting this long.

Now the comic does not follow the same path as the show. It may have some parts the same and some situations the same but the comic will take huge twists and has no problem taking out characters. The way the story instantly grabs you and never lets go is beyond me. It just grabs your attention yet at the same time you never truly know what to expect or what will happen next. Now this comic story differs from others as it just isn’t about a group of people going through and killing zombies with no story. This is the opposite. In this you have the story about a group of people surviving, what will they do and how will they do it, what mistakes will they make, and how will they act and think in a time like this. The zombies are on the back burner almost as a lingering threat. This truly shows the survivors side and gives enough thought and back story to it to make you want them to survive and prosper through it.

Now the illustrations in this really help also as you get the gritty black and white feeling of old school zombie films such as “Night Of The Living Dead”. It isn’t violent too much but the pictures really help show just the real pain these people are in.

Overall I just can’t recommend this enough.
