Ice Age has quickly become one of my favorite animated comedy series to come out with it’s blend of good stories, likeable characters, great animation, and just great amounts of comedy. This new film in the series isn’t any different, if anything I might say this might be my favorite one yet or close to it. This is one of the few series out there I feel that is only getting better.
Now first off I must say that the animation for this film is beautiful. This film has some of the best animations I’ve seen in a long time. Now the film does follow a story centered around family values and not giving up but it doesn’t feel like a kids movie with that. They keep the pace up enough in the film to never have a slow moment and all the characters get enough air time to make you remember not only how funny they are all but how likeable each character is. With the cast that have been in the previous films we also get a few new additions I have to point out. Sid’s grandmother is in a lot of this film and I have to say she is hysterical. They really hit something good by added her since not only is she funny with parts that just have her but some of the moments where she is with everyone is just down right hysterical. Also the band of misfit pirates give plentyof laughs and good scenes in the film.
Also to note before the film they have been showing a short cartoon “The Longest Daycare – Starring Maggie Simpson.” Now this cartoon is mildly entertaining and funny and features Maggie trying to save a butterfly from being killed in daycare. It is a silent cartoon and lasts maybe 5 minutes. It is decent but won’t warrant more than one view.
Overall, this movie is a must see. It will more than likely end up being one of my favorite animated films to come out this year and it just a fun view and worth the time.
