The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning Movie Review
Released : October 6th, 2006
Reviewed : January 30th, 2012
Genre : Horror
Story (from Netflix) :
The genesis of the monstrous Leatherface is recounted in this shocking slasher flick, which begins as two Vietnam-bound brothers (Taylor Handley and Matthew Bomer), out for a last fling with their girlfriends (Diora Baird and Jordana Brewster), crash their Jeep — and end up in a heap of trouble. Next thing you know, a psycho sheriff (R. Lee Ermey) ushers them into a place where terror awaits in the form of young Leatherface (Andrew Bryniarski).
That’s odd, I seem to remember liking this movie alot more that I currently do. It’s hard to make a good prequel though I admit. This movie doesn’t really seem to be a prequel. It dwells very little into the back story of Leatherface or his family and instead makes a quick route then just goes into the average horror film. This one is pretty slow paced though I think and honestly I think at least 75% of the film has Leatherface no wheres to be seen. Sure it may deal with more of the family but WHERE IS LEATHERFACE! With that though it is decent and because of the series that it is, it really is hard for me to hate this movie no matter how much I should want to. At the end it really is almost just a average horror film but add in tiny bits of Leatherface. Worth a watch at least.
