Avenged Sevenfold’s newest album titled “Nightmare” is a little bit of all their previous albums combined.

Starting off with tracks like Nightmare and Welcome To The Family you see the mix of City Of Evil in there. The songs have the fast moments but also the nice riffs along with a good chorus. Also Nightmare has a nice piano opening just like Critical Acclaim did but it’s not as good as Critical Acclaim. You then go into tracks like Danger Line and Buried Alive which are slower songs with some fast parts. Both great songs with a slower feel to them but still carry the riffs and catchy lyrics. God Hates Us all though is the song that most people that are fans of their older heavier stuff will enjoy though. It sounds like something from Waking The Fallen. It has the fast drums and Matt screams for the majority of the song with the “breakdown” type deal at the end of the song. From there on the rest of the cd is really slower songs. Now its not a bad thing as Vicitim is a amazing song and will have you singing it for quite song time and Tonight The World Dies is also great it just really slows down the cd. It seems to be the first half of the album is heavier and fast while the second half slows it down some. Overall though its a great album and may not be heavy again and it does carry alot of radio rock type songs but it is still a great album and something everyone should check out.

Overall: 9.5/10
